December has arrived! And December only means one thing nowadays, CHRISTMAS.
Although, people have gone completely over the top a month early this year, playing christmas songs on the radio and putting up decorations IN NOVEMBER. I mean, christmas shopping is acceptable any time of the year in my books as many people struggle with money and might as well buy presents when they have the money, but November is a bit early for decoration/celebration.
We usually put the decorations up on my birthday, December the 4th. It's a kind of tradition in my family. In my head though, Christmas starts in the 1st and ends on new year's eve. It's hard for it not to when you have an advent calendar.. Not that I still buy one or ask for one, I get given one. By my mum. The last two years I've had a Transformers advent calendar and a Peppa Pig advent calendar, you wouldn't think I'm going to be 19 tomorrow..
I may have bought a christmas jumper back in November.. and possibly worn it.. but that was because it was warm, very warm. I now own two christmas jumpers, one with Santa's face on the front, and another with Rudolf. They're great so I'm definitely going to make the most of wearing them this month!
As I've grown up I've become more excited about given presents rather than receiving them. But I do struggle with certain people.. I'm guessing most people do. I'm so easy to buy for, I'm happy with almost anything.. obviously there's a line, I wouldn't be happy with say a JLS calendar, I would burn it. But overall I'm happy with anything. I would in fact be very grateful for colourful socks or another pet. But the second one will not happen.. We already have a fat cat and she wouldn't like another cat stealing any of her food.
I just can't wait for the Beefeater on Christmas day, opening and giving out presents, and just being with family without having to worry about work or other stressful commitments. The only thing I would change is being able to see everyone, I have two main sides of the family and we alternate Christmas day every year, one year with my dad's side, one year with my mum's. But now I have Jim, I have three lots of family, So I can never really see my boyfriend on the day, only boxing day, or even worse, the day after.
Anyway, who's betting on a White Christmas this year? It probably won't happen, It's just a great way for bookies to make extra xmas money!
